The use of art therapy in working with the elderly in a day care centre

This bachelor's thesis explores therapeutic procedures, techniques and methods suitable for working with a group of elderly clients. The theoretical part is focused on specific requirements of the selected age group, the problems of aging and the associated physical, mental and psychological changes. The text also summarizes art therapy in general and its division. In addition, this part focuses on art therapy in group settings and techniques suitable for working with elderly individuals. The practical part of the work documents the author's management of a group of elderly clients in the ambulatory care facility Domovinka in Třebíč. The chapter describes the process of the program preparation, the program implementation and it summarizes the outcomes of the collaboration between the author and the clients. The text is supplemented by extensive reflection and photo documentation of artifacts and of the creative process.
The use of Arttherapy in coordinated rehabilitation

This master's thesis deals with the issue of coordinated rehabilitation and the issue of art therapy as its component. Coordinated rehabilitation is an interrelated process of therapeutic, pedagogical, occupational and social rehabilitation, whose main goal is to minimize the consequences that arise from an individual's disability. Art therapy is a therapeutic and cultivation process using psychological and artistic means to impress the client. Successful rehabilitation is based on early, smooth and coordinated efforts to involve persons with disabilities in everyday activities of life as quickly and as widely as possible. This activation can also be achieved by involving art therapy. The theoretical part consists of two basic chapters. The first chapter deals with the concept of coordinated rehabilitation and its theoretical level. The following subchapters deal with the history of coordinated rehabilitation, international classification of functional abilities, disability and health, as well as topics such as disability, disability classification, multidisciplinary up to health team, as well as social and occupational rehabilitation. The second chapter describes art therapy and its theoretical definition. Afterwards, art therapy will be described in terms of components of coordinated rehabilitation and its concept or legal definition. The aim of this thesis is to find out how can art therapy in the system of coordinated rehabilitation contribute to successful rehabilitation of the client. For the empirical part a qualitative research method was chosen. This type of research was chosen due to the limited number of respondents and in order to gain new knowledge in the above mentioned disciplines. The obtained results can be used to create a feedback tool in the research facility, which can then be used to improve the quality of care provided. This thesis can be further used as a source of information for future clients and their families.
Development of Artistic Expression in Pre-school Children

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of children's art expression, primarily drawing and painting, in pre-school children. The theoretical part presents the connection between leisure time and children's art expression. It also characterizes preschool age in terms of artistic expression. It also presents the typical signs of children's artistic expression and its development. The practical part of the thesis consists of author's art project with the theme Travelling with the Little Prince, which was realized in kindergarten Královská školka in České Budějovice. Through artistic activities the project points out the typical signs and differences in the artistic expressions of pre-school children. The project used art techniques that clearly show these characteristics and are close to pre-school children. The bachelor thesis uses literature from the field of pedagogy, psychology and art education.
Siblings in a Group of Preschool Children and Their Artistic Expression.

The bachelor thesis deals with the options of art therapy approaches in the kindergarten environment. It focuses on the artwork of sibling pairs. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first, theoretical part, it addresses the characteristics of child and childhood, and child development in physical, mental and social terms. It deals with the influence family and family environment, siblings and sibling constellations on the child's development. It also touches on the importance and content components of preschool education and exposure to peer group. It describes basic features of children's artistic expression and the theoretical possibilities of the overlap of art therapy to art in kindergarten. In the second, practical part of the thesis, case reports of four sibling pairs and an analysis of their artwork are presented, in the context of the circumstances and period of its origin. The research has been carried out in a kindergarten environment. The aim was to find out how the artistic expression of siblings reflects the experience of the family environment, how the siblings interact with each other and whether this fact appears in their artistic expression. We found out how the joint presence of these siblings affects their activity in the group and pointed out the possibility of opening the way to solving their adaptation problems and individual themes through artwork.
Art Expression of Psychic Deprived Children of Preschool Age

The Bachelor Work concerns about an art expression of deprived preschool children. In the theoretical part there is the main stress put on the development of drawing in the preschool age, on the problems of the psychic deprivation and possibilities of the arttherapy with the given children. The practical part contains an analyse of free drawings of mentally deprived children in contrast with drawings of children comming from functional families. It was valuated the arrangement, the subject of drawings, the colour scheme and the elaboration of a space. At the close there are presented several casuistics with the drawings of deprived children. The realized conclusions are compared with the knowledge of the specialized literature.
Graphic manifestation of children of younger school age at risk

This dissertation is based on specific areas of learning and disabilities that are related to gross and fine motor skills and the main focus is on the manifestations of dysgraphia. The aim is to affect the peculiarity of these disorders depending on the drawing and artistic abilities of students which requires Rey-Osterrieth's complex figure and additional tasks that are compared with this figure. Rey-Osterrieth's complex figure is a well-known and used diagnostic tool in the field of learning disabilities and it is used to compare the performance of students. The student's artistic ability, perception of perspectives, spatial composition, and work with lines are very important. The performance of each student is described in detail in this dissertation, both through quantification and through a written description. In the dissertation, there can found a case study and a comparison of students that differ from the average data.
Self-knowledge in art expression

This qualitative thesis deals with self-knowledge in art expression. The work examines how the creator understands to his or her art product, what happens in the dialogue over the product and how this understanding impacts self-knowledge and self-transformation. The work represents the principle of expression and expressiveness as a phenomenon and mandala as a specific instrument of art expression, which is set into a professional framework through its origin and tradition of use in therapeutic practice. The work is dedicated to the process in which the meaning is explored and constitutes three stages - expression, reflection and analysis. Theory of expression, dynamic art therapy and hermeneutic approach are presented as three basic theoretical approaches in this work. The work describes three case reports in a dynamic process and interprets them through formal and thematic analysis, or more precisely it shows which strategies are used to find the meaning in picture and what is the character of the main topics. Art activities of children aged between two and three years

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out which art activities are suitable for children from two to three years, to determine which art techniques are already possible with such small children. The theoretical part will summarize the physical and psychological development of the age group, artistic expression and features and description of the art activities. The practical part is about the realization of the whole, based on the theoretical part.
